PTAD Sensitize Pensioners In Katsina On Newly Introduced “I Am Alive" Service
“I Am Alive" online confirmation of PTAD pensioners nationwide PTAD sensitize pensioners on newly introduced “I Am Alive" service The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) carried out a sensitization exercise of its ongoing “I AM AlIVE" online confirmation of pensioners under the Defined Benefits Scheme to retired workers in security sector, in an effort to identify pensioners that are alive for their prompt payment. The sensitization program took place on Monday, September 19, 2023, at the premises of the police compound at GRA in Katsina Metropolis. Speaking at the event, the leader of the exercise, Hajiya Bilkisu Rimi, said that the "I am Alive" program, which is being carried out, aims to determine the pensioners of the federal government who are alive by verifying themselves using the online program launched by the Directorate. Apart from that, she noted that the scheme was introduced looking at the current situation in the country to ease the untold hardship experienced by the retired workers in trying to get verified. She noted that the new introduced program would enable the pensioners to verify themselves using smart phone or computer laptop. According to her, in order to ensure prompt payment of pension to retired workers, it launched the scheme for the retired workers to verify themselves every six months. In his remark, Dr. Abubakar Dan Musa from the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) said the cardinal objectives of the agency is to ensure the provision of health care delivery at subsidized rate. He noted that the NHIS would use the information gotten from PTAD to include retired workers in to the scheme, while calling on people to register with the agency to benefits with the agency. In another development, the leaders of the Directorate has paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Katsina Dr. Abdulmuminu Kabir Usman and other traditional monarchs to continue to sensitize the pensioners on how to make good use of the opportunity introduced by PTAD. In a remark the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmuminu Kabir Usman, expressed his happiness over the introduction of the new scheme to ease the difficulty experience by the pensioners. The royal Father noted that the online confirmation of pensioners will ease the difficulties experienced by the retired workers for their payments. The Emir, added it will significantly impact on the lives of pensioners, who spent years contributing to the development of the nation. He called on them to live above board in discharging their assigned their responsibilities.
