Fire Outbreak destroyed properties worth millions of Naira at Daura Emir's palace Property worth millions of naira were destroyed in a fire outbreak at the palace of the Emir of Daura. The fire which was said to have started around 4 pm on Monday raged for several hours, destroying virtually everything at a section occupied by the emir’s son, Danburam of Daura. Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the emirate, Sarkin Labaru Usman Yaro, said though cause of the inferno was not ascertained (as at the time of filing this report), the fire could have started by electrical problem as the house was closed when it started. He thanked the operatives fire service and the people of Daura town who helped in putting out the fire.

KATSINA STATE COMMAND OF NIGERIA SECURITY AND CIVIL DEFENCE CORPS GET NEW STATE COMMANDANT There is a change of baton at the headquarters of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Katsina State Command. The mantle of leadership was passed to the newly deployed State Commandant, Commandant Jamilu Abdu Indabawa by the outgoing Commandant Muhammad Sanusi Bello psc+ who has been deployed to Adamawa State Command as substantive State Commandant by the amiable Commandant-General of the Corps Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni, OFR. The handing-over was held at the state Command Headquarters, on Monday, 23rd January 2023, in the presence of the management staff of the Command. During the ceremony, the outgoing Commandant enjoined all personnel of the Command to accord the new commandant the same loyalty and cooperation he enjoyed during his time. Commandant Indabawa on his part thanked Commandant Bello for the wonderful reception and seamless transition. He equally solicited the cooperation of officers and men of the command toward protecting critical national assets and infrastructure and other core mandates of the Corps, especially in the present security situation in the state and the oncoming 2023 General Election. He reaffirmed that the Command under his watch will not rest on its oars in ensuring peace and order before, during and after the election. He also seized the opportunity to reassure the good people of the state of his commitment to the fight against all forms of crimes and criminalities and solicited the goodwill and cooperation of the citizens to achieve this noble objective. Commandant Indabawa was born in the ancient city of Kano 53 years ago and had his Primary and Secondary education at Kofar Na'isa Primary School, kano between 1976-1982 and Rumfa College between 1983-1988, respectively. Between 1989-1994, the Commandant attended the prestigious Kano State Polytechnic, where he had his National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Business Management Studies. His thirst for knowledge takes him to the renowned Bayero University Kano where he obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management and Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) between 1997-2000. Commandant Indabawa is a vastly experienced Commander of men who joined the Corps in 2005 and over the years had served in different capacities across numerous formations in the Corps. He served as an intelligence officer in Kano Command headquarters, he was the Abia Command's PRO in 2007, and later, the Divisional officer of Arochukwu, Osisioma, Aba south, and Isiukwuato local government areas of Abia State. His deployment to Katsina as the State Commandant may not be unrelated to his deep knowledge of the people and terrain of the state, where he served as Area Commander in Daura and Funtua Area Commands, HOD Crisis Management, HOD Administration and HOD Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Protection Department, in 2021 he was DCC PRS at Akwa Ibom Command and later Commandant in-charge of CNAI, Zone L Rivers Zonal Command which comprises Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross Rivers States from where he was deployed as the substantive Katsina State commandant, to carry on with the Commandant-General Audi’s drive to positioned the Corps in its rightful place as a critical stakeholder in the security architecture of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The new sheriff in town has equally undergone a series of training over the years as an officer of the Corps. Katsina Commissioner of Police Decorate 340 newly promoted officers The Commissioner of Police, Katsina state Command has decorated three hundred and forty three newly promoted Police officers with their new ranks at the Police command headquarters, Katsina. This is contained in a press released issued by the PRO of the cimmand SP Gambo Isah in Katsina. Acvording to the release, one Chief Superintendent of Police CSP was promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP, sixteen Assistant Superintendent of Police ASP were promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP. Others are thirty eight Assistant Superintendent of Police two ASP two that were promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Police one ASP one, while two hundred and eighty eight Inspectors of Police were promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Police two ASP two. The ceremony was attended by members of the command management team, Area Commanders, Heads of Department and relations of the promoted police officers. In his address the Commissioner of Police Idrissu Dabban Dauda congratulated the newly promoted officers and enjoined them to consider the promotion as a blessing from Almighty God. ACG Inspects Collapsed Fence Of Funtua Correctional Center The Assistant Controller General Of Corrections In charge of zone B which comprises of Katsina, Jigawa, Kano and Kaduna State, ACG Usman Abubakar was received by the State Controller Muhammad Abdulmumin Haruna on Wednesday 1st June 2022, at State headquarters. This is contained in a statement Signed by ASC Najibullah Idris, CPRO NCoS Katsina Command and made available to Katsina Post. ACG and his management team inspected the 153 meters of perimeter Wall that collapsed due to windy Storm and heavy rainfall at medium security custodial center {MSCC} Funtua. The ACG Abubakar in his remark, directed the State Controller to transfer some high profile inmates to nearby medium security custodial center in the State accordingly. The State Controller Muhammad Abdulmumin further briefed the ACG on the state of affairs with regards to the incidence, adding that the windy storm that blew off the fence occurred at exactly 3:30pm on 31st of May 2022, and to the glory of God, no casualty was recorded as a result of the incidence. He further assured the ACG that situation has been put under control, adding that, our men and those of our sister agencies have been drafted in other to beef up the security of the facility.

Harira is the name of Anambra victim not Fatima - Abdulbaki Jari BBC Hausa journalist Abdulbaki Jari took to his Instagram handle @bahaushei after interviewing the husband of Anambra victim who lost her life and her four daughters yesterday. Jari says BBC Hausa interviewed the husband Malam Jibril Ahmed who confirmed the incident that his wife Harira 32, was murdered on Monday 23 May. Abdulbaki also says the name of the daughters are Fatima, Khadija, Hadiza and Zaituna. Jari in the post also wrote that the Sarki Hausawa of Ihiala Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, also confirmed the incident. The first videos of the woman lying on the road with her four daughters went viral after it was shared on social media. Nigerians have been calling for justice for the victim and also ask government to bring an end to killings in Nigeria.

Katsina State CJ grants bail to 57 inmates at medium security custodial center  The Chief Judge of Katsina State, Justice Musa Danladi has granted bail to 57 Inmates at Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in the state. According to the statement, Justice Danladi in his remark said the excercise was in line with the decision of the Federal Government to decongest the custodial center as a measure to contain the spread of tuberculosis cases in the facility. The categories of inmates that benefited from the exercise were the aged and those with serious health challenges.
