UNDP, KASEDA Organizes Business Management Training For 1000 MSMEs in Katsina 

The Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Northwest Prevention Facility, organized a women and youth-led business and financial management training workshop for over 1,000 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Katsina State. 

The workshop held in Katsina, Dutsinma and Funtua was aimed at equipping participants who were drawn from frontline LGAs with the necessary skills and knowledge to improve their business management practices and financial literacy.

In his welcome address, the Coordinator of the programme, Dr. Sadiq Ibrahim Matazu, highlighted the importance of the training for MSMEs in Katsina. 

Dr. Sadiq  said the program will target businesses in low income house holds affected by conflict by providing livelihood support to 400 Nano business with a grant of N100,000: 300 Micro businesses with N300,000, 200 small businesses with revolving fund of N600,000 and 100 Medium enterprises with a revolving fund of N1,000,000. 

He added the program is focused on women and youth and People living with disability in the 8 frontline LGAs of Jibia, Safana, Faskari, Batsari, DanMusa, Dandume, Sabuwa, and Kankara. 

Dr. Matazu emphasized that the training would provide participants with the tools they need to succeed in today's competitive business environment.

He said that there are two components of the training, the first training was just concluded the previous week in KYCV one is with starter pack of 150,000 for each 1,000 beneficiaries after the training is concluded.

The Commissioner of Women Affairs, Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar Ƴar'adua, advised participants to take advantage of the training to learn new skills and improve their businesses. She also urged them to continue to support women entrepreneurs in the state.

The Director of Enterprise at KASEDA, Dr. Ibrahim Gani, also addressed the participants. He encouraged them to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired during the training to their businesses.

Certificate of attendance was presented to the participants at the end of the training.

The participants expressed their gratitude to KASEDA and UNDP for organizing it. They said that the training had given them a new perspective on business management and financial literacy.

Katsina Post learnt that the training was part of KASEDA's efforts to support MSMEs in Katsina. The agency has been providing a variety of services to MSMEs, including training, financing, and technical assistance.
