Dujiman Katsina Mourns Late President Yar’Adua’s Mother

The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Interior, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmad, has commiserated with Yar’Adua family, the Government and people of Katsina State over the demise of a renowned matriarch, Hajiya Dada.

Sardauna Francis, the media aide to the Lawmaker disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Katsina on Tuesday.

Dada, mother of the former late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, late General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua and Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, died at the age of 102 in her residence in Katsina, Monday evening.

The House Committee Chairman on Interior, described the late matriarch as a gem of inestimable value who has mentored many reputable Nigerian leaders during her lifetime.

Ahmad, who represents Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency of Katsina State, said Hajiya Dada was a mother of multitudes because her home was always a place of refuge where she welcomed everyone irrespective of tribal, religious and political affiliation with love and enthusiasm.

“I am saddened by the passing of Hajiya Dada, the beloved mother of our dear respected political leader, mentor and father, late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. Dada was an accomplished and true matriarch who lived a faithful life in accordance with Islamic tenets”.

“I express my profound grief and condolences to the Yar’Adua family, the Government and people of Katsina State over the loss of the true matriarch. May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Al-jannah Firdausi. Ameen.”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker added that the late matriarch will be sorely missed.
